Fire Fish

36 × 48 inches
Oil on canvas
Original painting

Fire Fish is a painting about what happens when attention meets transformation.

At the center, a quiet fire burns low and steady—not destructive, but alive. From it rise luminous fish-like forms, drifting upward as if made of breath, memory, or thought itself. They move between worlds: water and flame, instinct and awareness, the seen and the felt.

Two figures sit at the edges of the scene, not as observers but as witnesses. Their bodies are still while something subtle passes through them—smoke, spirit, inspiration. The fire becomes a shared focal point, a threshold where inner material begins to surface and take form.

The fish act as messengers. In many cultures, fish symbolize intuition, subconscious wisdom, and unseen currents. Here, they are rendered in fire—suggesting ideas or emotions that have reached the moment of ignition. Thoughts no longer swimming quietly below the surface, but rising, visible, ready.

Painted in oil on canvas, the work carries depth and atmosphere. The cool blues and greys of the surrounding space contrast with the warm intensity of the fire, creating a steady pulse between calm and activation. The scale of the piece allows the viewer to feel immersed, as if seated at the fire alongside the figures.

Fire Fish lives comfortably in spaces meant for contemplation—places where reflection, creativity, and meaning are allowed time. It is not a loud painting, but it is a potent one. The longer it is lived with, the more it reveals itself.

This is a work for collectors who sense that transformation is rarely dramatic. It often arrives quietly, rises slowly, and only later shows its flame.
